Close Finish in 2007’s Silverstone Scholarship

 

Mark finished 2nd just 4 points from victory, with 1335 points compared with the winner’s 1338 points.

Mark had to go through an intensive assessment day along with the other 8 finalist, all wanting to take home the prize of a season racing Superlight Caterhams. A large range of cars was used during the day to help the instructors mark your ability and put you against the clock. Cont. in reports

Two Podium Finishes at Silverstone Stowe Races

Mark took part in two races on the Stowe circuit at Silverstone taking 3rd and 2nd place. He recovered from his 6th place qualifying slot to come across the line side by side with the 2nd place finisher. In race 2 Mark started 3rd and took the lead by lap 2, he was able to hold on to it until the last three laps, when he lost out going into the first corner and was unable to retake the lead. Mark is now looking ahead to the Final of the scholarship on Tuesday.

Mark Tops Points Table in Qualifying Round of the Silverstone Scholarship

 

The Two day assessment finished yesterday afternoon with Mark coming out on top and in doing so is invited back to take part in the Final on the 20th of March. During the two days the competitors showed their talent in a range of cars on track and on the skid pan, while the instructors scored them on all aspects of their driving not just lap times.

Mark is joining 9 others in the final shootout for a chance to race Caterham Superlights for the 2007 season, the winner takes all.

Team Velocity is looking ahead to next year and the options that can be taken. Currently Mark is looking at competing in the Silverstone Scholarship in March, if successful a race seat in a Caterham Superlight for the 2007 season awaits.

However with tough competition expected, the Star of Silverstone Championship is also on the cards.
